However beautiful the strategy, you should occasionally look at the results.
Having a solid strategy helps us to be confident that we are taking the best approach. Not only do we define what success looks like, but we also have a greater understanding of failure. It is very common for organisations and businesses to blindly continue down a route until total failure happens. I try to avoid this as early as possible.
Defining a success criteria and the best way to achieve it is a sensible business decision. If things do not go to plan, we get very early indicators, allowing us to pivot direction based upon evidence and insight. Without a strategy we may not even have the mechanics in place to measure success. This would be a mistake.
The important thing to remember is that there is always more than one right way. It’s my job to find the most suitable way for your business.
